根据古龙的《流星蝴蝶剑》和金庸的《笑傲江湖》改编的电视剧。沈冲（李南星 饰）作为江湖中的头号杀手厌倦了杀手生涯，投靠了江湖地位颇高的南宫世家，但是杀手组织的大姐秋老大（刘秋莲 饰）心中还挂念着他。南宫世家为争夺武林秘籍莲花宝典与飞鹰堡结仇，南宫家的小姐小蝶受到父亲南宫俊（朱厚任 饰）和哥哥南宫剑（陈天文 饰）的严厉管制，与此同时养子白玉川（塔琳托娅 饰）也苦苦纠缠她，为此小蝶几次自杀，幸好都被沈冲所救，两人日久生情。不死心的白玉川几次从中挑拨，还暗中勾结飞鹰堡想独得秘籍，事情败露后，沈冲在朋友叶群（谢韶光 饰）的帮助下将白玉川打下了山崖，可是莲花宝典也随着白玉川的死亡消失了。不久后，江湖中出现了一个神秘的大理郡主段素素，一场腥风血雨又将到来。
